Veteran's Skatepark Pics - Huntington, NY (2010)

We got some pics from the restricted Veterans Skatepark a.k.a. Northport Park (Huntington, NY). The park is enclosed by the same fence type as Pier 62 and also has the same turnstiles (bikers are prohibited). The park hasn't officially opened yet, but it's already causing controversy since it's not going to be free: using the park will cost $50/year pass + entry fee. Our friends over at KuatoLives2084 have been keeping up with the situation if you want more info.

If you feel that charging for this skatepark (town residents & non-residents) is wrong, please email your opinion to the following officials: dmckay@town.huntington.ny.us, pbosch@town.huntington.ny.us, fpetrone@town.huntington.ny.us, mcuthbertson@town.huntington.ny.us, sberland@town.huntington.ny.us, gjackson@town.huntington.ny.us, and mmayoka@town.huntington.ny.us. We haven't seen an official announcement regarding the pricing so maybe the town of Huntington will listen to the public and allow the less fortunate kids to skate such a beautiful skatepark!

Northport Skatepark Pics via Kuato Lives (2010)

Kuato Lives posted some construction pics of the new Northport skatepark. The 10,000 sq. ft. concrete park is being built by Site Design Group, Inc. in Veterans Park (East Northport, NY) and might be completed before Fall 2010.

Hazel Beat Loaf Premiere Pics (2010)

Gambling with a huge snow storm, we decided to head out to the Hazel Beat Loaf video premiere at Special Sauce (Huntington, NY) last night. We arrived a little late but got to catch most of the vid (the top half mostly) and reunite with some friends. After the vid was over everyone migrated downstairs into the shop and then eventually over to a local bar. Hazel supporters included Gino Iannucci & Matt Bell (Poets), Rob Mate (Mighty Healthy), KuatoLives2084 crew and Eric "The Ronz" Rosetti to mention a few. Thanks to Hazel & Special Sauce... congratulations to Scott Sutherland on his new pro model! For more pics check Tony Memento's FB album.
