Pier 62 Skatepark - Opening May 17th (2010)

It was confirmed yesterday (by Hudson River Park Trust & Open Road) that the opening ceremony for Pier 62 skatepark will be held Monday, May 17th 2010 at 10:00 AM. The park will open to the public immediately following the conclusion of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The park was designed by SITE Design Group, is 15,000 sq. ft, has lights, is free and requires safety gear. That's all we could find for now but make sure to follow the Official New York or Skaters for Public Skateparks forums for more info.

Billy Rohan x Japan's NHK Clip via Open Road (2010)

This clip of Billy Rohan was floating around some sites this week. It was posted by Open Road showing the taping of a Japanese (NHK) show which focuses weekly on what's cool in NY... in this case it's Billy's skateboard class at the New Design High School.
